Advocate

Works out what to ask school for — and gives you the exact words to say. Part of the Unpack platform.

Before we start

What Advocate does

You know something at school is harder than it should be. Advocate turns that into a small number of specific things to ask for, the actual words to say, and the right person to say them to — plus a page you can take into the conversation and write on.

Asking for an adjustment is an ordinary thing to do. It is not a favour, not a complaint, and not asking for an advantage.

What Advocate is not
  • It is not legal advice and it does not tell you what anyone is obliged to do. It suggests what is worth asking for.
  • It does not diagnose anything, and you do not need a diagnosis, a report or a letter to use it or to ask for help.
  • It cannot promise an answer. It does not know your school, and no tool can guarantee a yes.
  • It is not a task tool — for the work itself, use Audit and Adjust, Scaffold or Step Through.
