What Rubric Decoder does

Rubric Decoder reads the marking rubric inside an assessment and turns it into plain-language success steps: what to do for each criterion, a self-check list, what each grade band actually means, and sentence starters — all read against the specific task so the advice is concrete, not generic.

What Rubric Decoder is not
  • It does not audit or rewrite the assessment task — use Audit and Adjust for that
  • It does not add writing scaffolds to a worksheet — use Scaffold for that
  • It does not change the rubric, the marks, or the task requirements
  • It only decodes the marking criteria that are already in the assessment
Privacy

Assessment text and profile information are never stored. Each run is processed and discarded. Do not include real student names or personal information.

This decodes a rubric — it doesn’t fix the task. Upload the full assessment so the rubric is read in relation to the actual task. If you want the task itself audited or rewritten for accessibility, use Audit and Adjust. If you want writing scaffolds added to a worksheet, use Scaffold. Rubric Decoder leaves the task as-is and translates only how it will be marked.
